They will show up here in droves in the next month or so. The doves on the other hand, have taken over the feeder and have run off everything from woodpeckers to blue jays. Volume 13 Issue 9, September 2016 What's New in September? The hurricane season is just getting ramped up, and we’re doing our annual preparedness checks. Trimming trees, cleaning up trimmings and other ways to protect the property. After a month with no rain, it’s nice to be getting rainy days. The flowers all appreciate it, but the birds aren’t happy about a wet feeder. With all the rainy weather, I have spent some days tucked inside listening to it rain and making more beads and jewelry. Volume 13 Issue 8, August 2016 What's New in August? My flower gardens are in full bloom, and the butterflies are trying to crowd each other out when it comes to landing on my jatroba. I have even been blessed with a couple monarchs as they enjoy the blooms on my milkweed and honeysuckle. We are past the halfway point in the year already, and even though the summer is starting to heat up, I am already thinking of fall and all those luscious autumn colors.
